Purpose and Objective
The Ultimate Goal of Carmen's Nail Academy is to train the student to become a Professional
Nail Technician enabling the graduate to perform Bodywaxing, Nail-Art Design and to acquire
marketable, employable skills in the Professional Beauty Field.
Admission
Students must be at least 18 years old and must complete an enrollment contract. The prospective
student must pay a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee. The student must pay a $500.00
deposit at the time the student signs the enrollment contract. The student can come in to sign
the enrollment contract, or for convenience, the enrollment can be sent, then returned with the
registration fee and deposit.
Facilities Description
We have ample, free parking. We are located 10 minutes from 1-84 in Waterbury.
Situated in a plaza with shop and restaurants for snacks or meals. Nail salon atmosphere,
with the latest in state-of-the art equipment.
School Calendar
We offer a ten week program Mondays, day or evening: School will be in session every Monday and
Tuesday unless these days fall on a legal Holiday, such as Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day,
Christmas or New Years.
Grading Policy
Grading System:
Practical: Pass/Fail
Written: 100 - 70 Passing / Below 70 Failing
Graduation Requirements
Student will receive a Diploma upon passing grade completion of ten week program.
Student Conduct
Students are expected to behave and dress in a professional manner. BEHAVIOR - Being on time,
Classroom participation. DRESS CODE - Sneakers, open-toed sandals, Jogging Suits are not
acceptable. Students must make up all work missed within a three month period. Students can't
miss more than two classes. Students who exceed the allowed attendance or who do not make up the
work within the three month period will be dismissed. Then the refund policy will apply.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Refund Prior to Instruction:
The $500.00 deposit will be fully refunded if cancellation is received in writing within five
(5) days of signing the Enrollment Contract.
All tuition (except $500.00 deposit) paid prior to the start of classes will be fully
refunded if notified in writing five (5) days before the class begins.
Refunds After Instruction has Begun:
If you cancel, withdraw or are dismissed (see Additional Terms and Conditions below) after
you begin class but before you complete the program, we shall retain the stated cost of supplies
plus the tuition as indicated below:
We shall retain the non-refundable registration fee of $50.00, the $500.00 deposit,
the cost of all supplies accepted by the student and remaining tuition costs as stated below:
- Completion of 5 Hours - 10% of the remaining Tuition will be Retained.
- Completion of 10 Hours - 25% of the remaining Tuition will be Retained.
- Completion of 15 Hours - 50% of the remaining Tuition will be Retained.
- Completion of 20 Hours - 100% of the remaining Tuition will be Retained.
All refunds due you shall be made within thirty (30) days based on the last day of recorded
attendance.
Additional Terms and Conditions
Upon successful completion of the program with a minimum grade of 70%, we agree to award you a
Diploma. The School does not guarantee placement of employment. Students must make up all work
missed within a three (3) month period. Students cannot miss more than two (2) classes. Students
who exceed the allowed absences or who do not make up the classes in a three (3) month period
will be dismissed and the refund policy will apply.
We reserve the right to dismiss you on any of the following grounds: failure to pay charges when
due; unsatisfactory academic progress; failure to maintain a record of attendance of at least 100
hours of the delivered hours of instruction; non-conforming with our rules and policies regarding
the use and possession of alcohol or controlled drugs while on school property; violating the law
of school property so as to damage or jeopardize the School's reputation; international disruption
of obstruction of teaching and administration.
